The top of Tower Building on the Menninger Foundation campus can be seen along I-70 on the
West edge of Topeka, KS.  Mamie Eisenhower, wife of President Dwight Eisenhower often times
remarked how beautiful the tower was as she was escorted from Kansas City by the Kansas
Highway Patrol to visit Abilene, KS.

Beginning in an area behind Tower Building are nature paths.  Most of the above pictures were captured
between 4:00 and 5:00 P.M., using the zoom on our camera, facing the sun as it illumnated through the
colorful Fall leaves on Saturday, October 23,1999.

Following a maintenance path Northeast of the campus will eventually take one to the edge of the
Kansas River as it flows from the West of Topeka.  Last photo shows how low the water level is
this time of the year, and the sand bars that are beginning to appear.
